Longer than the Longest

It is said that hit a person where it pains most. If a person has wealth, if
the wealth vanishes, he feels bad.

Theoritically we humangs have a longevity of 120 years. However, for dhEvas
our one year is one day for them. Like this several years of dhEvA-s is the
longevity of brahmA. It takes yugA-s for one brahmA to complete his lifecycle.

Hence, his life cycle is the longest among all.

He was haughty regarding this. With thinking that nobody has got longer
life-span than his, he had a bloated ego.

Hence, to blow off hisgo the best thing is to look for a person who has longer
life-span, the Lord gave a boon. the event is as follows:

'rOmasA' was a rishi. He spent long years of worhsip towards sriman nArAyaNA.
When the Lord appeared in frontof Him, he requested for long life span of
several brahmAs. The name of this rishi came from the fact that he had lot of
hairs in his body. the Lord blessed him
" after each brahamA life -one hair will fall from your body. After all the
hair falls, your life will come to an end.'. Thus he was given the longer life
longer than the longest of brahmA and 'brahmA-s' ego was thus bloated.

This aspect is briefly narrated in the second pAsuram of kAzhich sErAma
viNNagaram divya-dEsam.
"nAnumugan, nAL migai, tharukkai irukku vAi mai,
nala-migu-sEr vurOmasanAl naviRri..."3-4-2

That is

LONGER THAN THE LONGEST
