This is a very very important point the person has raised. Keeping our temples and its praharas and if possible extending further to the society is very much need of the hour. Our Acharyas has shown examples but still we will not follow.
We need to find ways to take care of the following issues in our temples
1. People taking prasadams and droping on the floor, or after eating just wipe what ever place they can find,
2. when "tHErtHam" is distributed, half of the water will fall on the floor. and all will walk on that etc.
3. When "tHirumanjanam" is done, the water etc will be all over the place and people will be walking over it in some temples.
4. The drainage through which the "tHirumanganam" water goes will be smelling because of the unwanted growth.
etc.
I was reading on the otherday on one of the web sites of the Srila Prabhupada's deciples about how important was the "sripAda tHErtHam" of Srila. Prabhupada, they call it nectre. People will rush to lick the "sripAda tHErtHam" if it has fallen on the floor. What a bHaktHi.
By mercy of Sriman Narayana, all our ancestors tried to work hard in glorifying the place of worship with all their creative energy whereas we are taking those places to the dark ages inspite of calling ourselves advanced.
We all need to do some thing for the maintenance of "suchiness" of the Temples, they have to be very clean and also its sorroundings void of human excretions etc. All our poorvAchAryAs defines the main quality of a bHagawatHA is "sucHi" and "rucHi" in performing services to God.
