Psalm 118:50,56

Post by Mitch Tulloch »

What's the antecent of the demonstrative pronoun in these two verses? Or is it feminine because of some underlying word in the Hebrew?

Thanks!
Cheers,

Yes, it's the feminine near demonstrative pronoun זֹאת in Hebrew.

The "antecedent" comes later; it's the subordinating conjunction ὅτι / כי. The Hebrew doesn't have the Greek's gender mismatch between feminine αὕτη and neuter ὅτι.
