This web page is a class project direct by Dr. Sarah Phillips and developed with input from her Anthropology 400/600 class at Indiana University Bloomington. This class seeks to examine the impact of the Chernobyl disaster on affected communities, societies, and cultures, and to examine its ecological and social legacies.

Though initiated by the 2007 spring semester class, this website is a continuing project. It will be further developed, updated, maintained, and expanded by future classes.

The goal of this website is to provide a repository of basic information on Chernobyl, a small selection of articles and photographs, and recommendations for further reading and research. There are an enormous number of Chernobyl-related resources available in print and on the internet, and we hope that this site will offer a useful selection of resources and recommendations.

If you know of Chernobyl materials that you would like to see included in future development, feel free to contact us.
