USS Sausalito (PF-4)
Single 40mm gun mount firing, while the ship was training Korean
Naval personnel in preparation for her transfer to the Republic
of Korea, circa 1952.
Photographed by James Edward Taylor, who was then a member of
Sausalito's crew.
Note the training limit framework around the gun mount, used
to prevent firing into the ship's own structure.

Far East, under date of 6 September 1952.
Though the original caption implies that this engine is a diesel,
presence of a smokestack immediately forward of the engine, and
some of its other features, indicate that this is really is a
steam engine, probably for small craft propulsion.
