-- SHIPS of the REPUBLIC OF KOREA NAVY --

Apnok (Frigate, 1950-1952)

Apnok, formerly the U.S. Navy frigate Rockford (PF-48), was loaned to the Republic of Korea Navy in October 1950 for employment on Korean War blockade and patrol duties. In one of the few such incidents of that conflict, she fought off an enemy air attack in the Yellow Sea on 15 April 1951. Damaged in a collision in May 1952, Apnok was returned to United States custody in September of that year.

This page features our only view related to the Republic of Korea frigate Apnok of 1950-52.
