This page features overall views of USS Missouri during 1945.
In January 1945, Missouri arrived in the Pacific war zone and soon began seven months of active combat combat operations, mainly with the fast carrier task forces. In May, she became flagship of Admiral William F. Halsey's Third Fleet, retaining that role through the War's end, which formally took place on 2 September 1945, when the instrument of Japan's surrender was signed on her deck.
