Lighthouses of the United States: Idaho

The United States of America is a federal union of 50 states and a capital district. The northwestern state of Idaho is in the northern Rocky Mountains. The majority of the state is drained by the Snake River, a large tributary of the Colunbia River. The state has one commercial port, located on the Clearwater River just off the Snake River in Lewiston.

Recreational navigation in the state is limited to a few reservoirs, the two largest being Lake Coeur d'Alene and Lake Pend Oreille in the state's northern "Panhandle" region, part of a larger region called the Palouse. There are no true lighthouses in Idaho but a few navigational aids are maintained on these lakes.
