Elaine: Would the extracted Amino Acid from Fish product (fertilizer grade) an alternative to Fish hydrolysate in making AACT?

The information needed would be whether the amino acids are selective for some groups of microbes more than another group of microbes.

Bacteria use the simple sugars, protein and carbohydrates better than most fungi. By simple, I mean linear, non-branched, straight-chain carbon substrates. Fungal enzymes typically aren't as capable as bacteria at pulling in the simple foods.

Thus amino acids that are simple, non-complex, not much tertiary structure, are more likely to be bacterial foods. More complex amino acids would be more selective of fungi.

So, I'll answer your question with another question (grin), how complex are the amino acids produced in the product?

Another question, how were the amino acids extracted? Were they denatured in the process of extraction?
