[compost_tea] chitin, chitinase, crab shells

I know work has been done on PEI (Prince Edward Island) and
more trials are planned to show that shells can have in impact on
reducing soil diseases.

Maybe this has been discussed already, but if you are putting Crab
shell meal or other chitin containing products into compost or tea,
will this not encourage the destruction of the beneficial fungi too? It
would be great if it only targeted harmful fungi!

Does anyone know if there is any data on this?

Thank you,
Tim Livingstone
