Thanks for following up with this - I'd be curious to know which part of th=
e plant is most useful. And what is Aloe Concentrate?
Since this discussion a few months ago I've been stocking up on Aloe housep=
lants, intending to experiment with varying levels in compost tea applied t=
o seedlings.

Subject: [compost_tea] Aloe Vera and Compost Tea

Hello Peter,

Can you supply data on any lab tests you ran using your aloe vera in compos=
t tea to achieve the percentages you’re showing on your company’s web s=
ite? (See below.)

Do you recommend using aloe vera on all crops?

Are you adding aloe vera at brew inception in the tank or the brew basket, =
or adding it after brewing, but before application?

What part of the plant do you use and what form is the aloe?

I’d like to be able to increase my compost tea’s fungal numbers.

Thanks for any information you can pass along.

Thank you,

Judi

“Our first major research with aloe involved verification of Elaine Ingha=
m’s findings in relation to the biostimulating capacity of the herb. NTS =
research scientist, Peter Masasso, embarked on microbe brewing trials invol=
ving varying additions of concentrated aloe vera. The results were outstand=
ing, with a 670% increase in total bacterial biomass over the control and a=
 1,340% increase in fungal biomass!

The aloe concentrate was then sent to a prominent microbiologist who had re=
cently developed a state-of-the-art microbe food, for comparisons. Here, th=
e simple aloe produced equivalent microbe counts to the expensive, ‘champ=
agne’ product, but the numbers appeared to reverse if the aloe was oversu=
pplied (consistent with the microbicide capacity of the aloin fraction). A =
dilution of 0.5% to 1% aloe appeared most productive as a microbe brewing a=
dditive.”
