Subject: [compost_tea] Growing mushrooms with CT

  Hi all,
i have been looking at trying to grow some mushrooms
It seems like a good experiment and it should be fun. Check out growth rat=
es for fungi and growing conditions for best results. I don't know, other =
than micorhiza (vams) fungi that sprout and grow under water. There must b=
e a list of them somewhere. I know if you grow micorhiza, they sprout in 2=
0 min. in water then they get too big for subsequent filtering and can clog=
lines and nozzles. If they are mixed with CT the recommendation is to put=
them in the tea no more than ten min. before applying. Then get them on f=
ast. I have wet (with tea) and dry applied the vams with good results in b=
oth cases. I don't know about other fungi but will do some research. How =
are you going to know if you are successful?

Also, I think that molasses may be unnecessary. The fungi cannot use it an=
d you want your fungi to have less of a problem competing with bacteria. =
