Absolutely on #2. Add the spent compost back to the pile. As far as #1 there are some data to suppression of germination by corn gluten above a certain threshold. Too bad gluten + tea = sticky mess. I'm planning to add it dry, then spray tea after. Note the % protein in the corn gluten, figure protein is about 15% N and adjust fertilizers accoringly.

Good luck,

Hi everyone , hope all is going well , I have 2 ?'s i was hoping to get help with . 1 is there something that i can use as a pre-emergant,a natural product that can be added to the tea ,still be putting down good guys ,but also helping to prevent weeds from getting started in flower beds and such, i understand get the conditions right and for the most part you don't have to worry about weeds but untill that happens ? 2nd ,say i am done brewing a load of tea and compost still remains in its container ,can that already brewed compost then be added back to its original stock pile of compost and be recharged so to speak by adding it back or is it wasted material just to be placed in an inactive pile and used as potting soil, or something I hope i am making sense, thanks for your time and help , sincerly Reece
