Ah, can't recall any data on whether it is better to brew longer at lower temp or get the organisms growing and then let cool to the lower temps.

Based on what Ted is reporting, it would seem better to brew at lower temperatures for a longer time. But doing some rdata collection would be the way to go.

If you could run side-by-side tea brews using the same compost, same water, same recipe and then test organism numbers when you add the different teas to the soil, that would give us the answer.

Which one gives higher fungal biomass a week after addition to the soil? That would be the simple and most straight-forward way to assess.

Hum, you would want to start the low temp, longer brew first, and in the last 24 hours of that brew, start and finish the 24 hr brew so they both could be put down at the same time on the soil. Otherwise too much possible variance resulting from applying the tea on different days and having different weather conditions affect the outcome.

Thoughts from others?
