Re: [compost_tea] Attacks
Ted,
In previous e-mails, I have QUOTED your personal attacks on me and on other people, straight out of your e-mails.
Anyone on the list not see them? Anyone on this list not know what I'm talking about?
Ted, you even attacked me in the e-mail where you say you have never attacked me! What do you think this statement, quoted from YOUR e-mail, is?
"You don't like my posts and you think Jeff has all the answers then simply state you think my testing is BS as you are doing and that Jeff is right and you have the proof. There is no reason to get personal about this."
Point 1 - I just realized, when you write "you think Jeff has all the answers", that you are jealous of Jeff. Is that the problem here?
Point 2 - I have NEVER said I don't like your posts. Where have I ever said that? You have no basis on which to make your statement.
I have always distinguished between the useful information that you give, and the incorrect information you give, and the put-downs that you deliver.
STOP PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH THAT I NEVER SAID.
Point 3 -
I HAVE NEVER SAID THAT I THINK YOUR TESTING IS BS.
I have pointed out where you have incorrectly interpreted your information, where you reached an inappropriate conclusion, or where you tried to make a statment that was not upheld by the information you were giving.
When you state that compost tea cannot control slugs, I will object, because some people manage to control slugs just fine with compost tea. Mechanism for control? Adequate fungi, and probably the right set of fungi. Possibly yucca needs to be used to get those fungi to grow. Possibly certain sets of nematodes are present. Just because the guys in Ohio can't isolate and grow them does not mean they are not present in some people's compost.
Point 4 -
YOU SAY THAT I CLAIM THAT I HAVE THE PROOF. What are you talking about?
I gave examples of where compost tea was clearly the cause of the slugs no longer being present. I was clear that was the limit of the information I had. I never said I had some kind of holier-than-thou absolute proof.
Did anyone except Ted mis-interpret my words? Is anyone else not able to understand simple English sentences? Does anyone else have the need to twist what other people say into bizarre statements that do not reflect what was said?
The information that Jeff posts is correct, to the depth and limit that his testing has carried him, and at least Jeff doesn't over-extrapolate his results. He states what he sees, and there it is. When someone else says they don't see what Jeff sees, at least Jeff has the good manners to accept that person's experiences.
Jeff doesn't make any statements that what the other person is seeing can't possibly be the case. And yet, because TED has not experienced slug control, he negates everyone else's experience as not being possible.
Do you, Ted, not understand that to negate everyone and anyone else's experiences is a put-down?
Can I say this in any simpler English?
STOP PUTTING OTHER PEOPLE DOWN.
Point 5 -
For me to object to unpleasant behavior is not a put-down. I have not called you names, I have not made claims about your data, or other aspects of what you do.
I have asked you to stop being dis-respectful of other people.
Don't refer to other people in your posts, unless you can put in the quote from their work, or their e-mails that supports what you are claiming.
I am tired of you telling people that I said things that NEVER came out of my mouth, that were NEVER written by me.
I will ALWAYS point out to the rest of the list when you put words in other people's mouths, when you mis-quote people, when you use terms inappropriately.
I will always point out to the list serve the inaccuracies in what you say and do.
And I, of course, expect that you will do the same for everyone else.
But treat others with respect, and be honest. No twisting of what someone else says, no mis-interpretation of what others say just because you want to make yourself look better than them.
