Dear Dra. Elaine R. Ingham,

The 1st time I met you personaly was at a seminar in Holland in 2001
organized by Compara. As you know it is hard to start in a chemical minded
world on your own, so I have decided to take one step at a time, I started a
year ago, by learning to compost and buying CT ingredients from compara and
showing to one or two growers how and why it works and finally results are
coming up, although growers are not yet too confident, they are opennig up
to carry on and extend the trial areas, so far we have tried on greenhouse
crops (greens beans, tomatoes, cucambers, green pepars) and also melons
which so far looks great and tastes even better.

I have proposed to a client, that I would supply the CT for 1 ha for 1
season and they would do the soil analysis but I am not clear on which soil
analysis to do. As they are conventional growers, I was going to propose a
chemical fully compreensive soil analysis including totals of NPK Mg & S
nutrients on the soil which comes with a report from an independent advisor,
and in one years time I would ask for a Biol. Analysis, but then I noticed
that you do a package with Biol & Chem. will this come with a full report ?
and would you recommend in very unbalanced soils ?

On the SFI site you have a brief of a protocol on apple trees and I was
going to take that as my guide line although I have a few questions:

1. I have been told that microbs should not stand presures higher than 1.5
bars at the nozzle of the sprayer due to shear stress, but the lowest I
might be able to find here is 5 bars for Orchards sprayers. What should I do
?

2. Is it best for CT to be applied with high or low volume sprayers?

3. What would be the ideal nozzle size for CT aplication on orchards ?

4. Would it be better to do a Biological soil analysis now at the end of
harvest or in January - February ? as microbs are coming back to activity
prior to the 2nd CT aplication to the soil.

Thanks again for all your advices and interesting discussions, look forward
to your comments

Best regards
Joao Ventura
