Bob -

I'm certainly appreciative of your experience
and knowledge and equipment.

You've written a good summary of ACT and
and Elaine's accomplishments.

Allow me to share the following.  As an
alternative to burying the horse, let us
explore all possibilities.

In the first place this email list is not
about ACT.  It is about Compost Teas.

Compost teas by history, by practice,
by research, and by definition include
Non-Aerated Teas and Aerated Teas.

Non-aerated teas also have their place.

If you do not supplement these teas, then it is
straightforward.  It is easy to make and it
has useful properties and benefits.

Both types are tools proposed for organic
farmers in the CTTF.

There is a good amount of research literature on
these NCTs. They possess disease-suppressive
characteristics.

Keep in mind that nobody can say that NCT is
anaerobic, per se, just because it is NCT.

Keep in mind, also, that anaerobic has different
microbial pathways that can be putrefactive as well
as fermentative.   One is to be avoided, the other
is beneficial.

It might be interesting for this list to examine
NCT properties.  For one, these teas are stable
and can be shipped easier.

My network reveals interesting activity around
the world, using both NCTs and ACTs.

Best regards,

Steve Diver

both compost and ACTea.  Compost  may be marginal, nutrients added may
be marginal, water quality may be marginal but if aeration is good the
results will not be hazarous.  If aeration is fails to keep O2 levels
above the critical 6 mg/ml the dominant microbiology goes from aerobic
to anarobic.  Therein lies the hazard.  If the ACT will be ingested (
as foliar residue) a health hazard.

there is an econmic hazard.

a bucket for a day or so was a way to make ACTea.  ACTea is easy and
simple to make but there are some things that must be handled with
knowledge and care.  AIR is one of the most critical - ENOUGH air well
applied to be effective and to get circulation.

other stuff is about right, the products may have excitinghly great
effects on your garden, field, health!
