Doc: Are you sure?  Most "experts" - lab people in particular - have told me
"less than 15:1 is what you want."  And I'm fairly certain if you're at 30:1
there will be substantial heating happening, not the stable, close to
ambient temp expected of mature compost.

Only one of my compost books actually put a C:N number on finished compost,
saying it would "rot down to between 14 to 1 and 10 to 1."  (Rodale's "The
Complete Book of Composting", page 100.)  But they all indicate that 30:1 is
a good place to START composting, and that 20:1 represents less active, but
not finished compost, so I'm confused.
