Hi all-
I was perusing birdchat and came across the following message. I can imagine
the disappointment after such a long journey.
I am sure persons from all over the country are keeping an eye on carolinabirds
to determine the current status of what may well
be the rarest bird in the US at the moment. If anyone has any recent reports,
be they positive or negative, would you mind posting?

Hello chatters,
I have just returned from an arduous 1500 mile round trip to see the Green
Breasted Mango in Concord, North Carolina.
After driving through the night Friday, I was told upon my arrival that the bird
had not been seen, nor had it been seen Friday.
I do not know how valid that info was, but we did not see the bird the entire
day saturday and the home owners did not see
it since Wednesday. At least 60 people from all over the U.S. came to see that
bird. I suggest that no one go looking until
clarification can be made of the last time it was seen. If you do go Good Luck!

P.S. I was able to get the Kelp Gull in Sandgates, Maryland on the way home!

Thanks!
