Orange-tailed Cedar Waxwings

I read an article about this phenomenon years ago in a Cornell publication.
I know, I am still trusting a single source for information. From what I
can recall, the non-native honeysuckle berries have to be consumed at a
particular time in the feather development for the bird to develop the
orange coloration. This in part explains why the orange tail isn't more
common than it is.
