Hi y'all,
Jack Peachey and I checked out the Samworth Sparrow Festival this
afternoon for a cpl of hours. Our activity was limited to just one of the
fields. There are still plenty of LBJs to look at. We found:
Chipping - 4
Field - 10
Vesper - 1
Savannah - pick a number
Henslow's - 2
Song - a bunch
Swamp - 5
White-throated - 10
White-crowned - 2
non-sparrows seen included:
Red-tailed Hawk
Am. Crow
House Wren
Winter Wren
N. Mockingbird
Yellow-rumps
Pine Warbler
Great Horned Owl - perched in a snag alongside Hwy 701 at twilight.
