Continuing the media blitz, there's also a bird article in today's Durham
Herald-Sun -- this one about Northern Flickers, with quotes from Tom
Krakauer, John Gerwin, and me. Half of the article is online at:

Unfortunately the two side boxes apparently didn't make it to the online
version. One box is about bird counts and that we have twice as many
flickers here in winter as in spring; the other is about feeding behavior,
anting, etc.
