 3# and #4 Turrets  February 25, 1942 Removing the 14" guns from Turrets #3 & 4. Of note is the amount of water being pumped out from both turrets and signs of oil on the water.
 
 Removal of shells from Turret #3  May 10, 1942. Salvage on #3 turret. See also this image taken seconds later.
 
 Removal of shells from Turret #4  May 18, 1942 Hoisting 14" shells out of #4 turret. At the front of the turret can be seen the cofferdam put into place to allow the water to be pumped out.
 
 Forward Superstructure  May 18, 1942. The Forward superstructure in a picture taken from the rear fighting top. There is a diver in the water off the stoarboard side (note bubbles and boat).
 
 Divers on Turret #2  May 25, 1942 Divers exiting the flooded #2 turret. Guns from this turret were later embarked on USS Nevada and fired in anger against the Japnese at Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
 
 #4 turret  October 5, 1942. Removal of ammunition from the #4 turret handling room. This view shows why there were pumps in constant operation during salvage.
