Washington, DC. USA November 7, 2006 – The U.S. National Commission on Libraries and Information Science (NCLIS) today announced its position on Internet neutrality (“net neutrality”), currently being debated in the Congress…
In the press release [PDF], NCLIS sets forth Four Principles:
The four principles are:
- Consumers are entitled to access the lawful Internet content of their choice.
- Consumers are entitled to run applications and services of their choice (subject to the needs of law enforcement).
- Consumers are entitled to connect their choice of legal devices that do not harm the network.
- Consumes are entitled to competition among network providers, application and service providers, and content providers.
5. Consumers have the right to stone to death anyone who breaks rules 1-4.
I think if we bought in a death sentence for politicians who misuse thier powers. We’d have a better and fairer standard of lawmaking.
I don’t support the death penalty.
