Lester, Beats, Writers Conference and Adcock are all on this coming week.

Patrick Herron will be reading and talking about his poetry and that of Lester on Tuesday April 22 at noon – 1:15 pm at Duke’s John Hope Franklin Center, Room 240. Patrick Herron is a poet, musician, artist and information scientist living in Chapel Hill, NC, USA. Anne Waldman and Ed Sanders will be reading their poems at UNC’s Bull’s Head Bookstore at 3:30 pm on Tuesday April 22.

Waldman, Sanders, Lawrence Ferlinghetti biographer Bill Morgan and Robert Cantwell will present a panel “THE BEATS AND BEYOND: COUNTERCULTURE POETICS, 1952-1975” on Wednesday April 23 in Wilson Library beginning with a 5:00 pm Reception and Exhibit in the Melba Remig Saltarelli Room followed by the 5:45 pm Program in Pleasants Family Assembly Room. On Saturday, April 26, from 8 a.m. until 5:45 p.m. in the Elliott University Center at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro is the 2008 North Carolina Writers’ Network Spring Conference featuring at keynote talk by poet Linda Gregg. The full schedule is here.

Sunday April 27 at 3:00, Betty Adcock and Elizabeth Seydel Morgan will read their poems at Quail Ridge Books in Raleigh.
