Voting Day – early

Sally and I went down to the dedication of the Unsung Founders Monument this morning. On the way we stopped by for early voting. There was no waiting. Well, almost no waiting. We ended up chatting with my former collegue Bert Dempsey and his wife Molly as we all walked in. Bert who travels quite a bit with his tech company says that early voting has allowed him to participate in elections like never before. Even at that, we were in the 700s of those who voted early in this election.

Looks like I’ll be winning a bet against a local cynic that said we wouldn’t break the 329 mark for students!

Thank you for voting Paul, I hope your example rubs off on the campus community. Remember, I’m shaving the beard off at the 1,000 student vote level.

In many ways, I consider myself a student. Seriously how will you count the student vote? By the campus precinct? So many live off campus and would vote off campus.
Not that I want your beard off, but I’m curious.

I’m counting anyone 18-24 or registered in the
last year as students. For new registrations (and this should give a number of readers pause) include folks age! In the end, I’ll bias towards the 1,000 based on traditional student precincts, Morehead and what the BOE can tell me about the distribution of votes by age.
