Re: online primary sources for use in curriculum

Here are a few more based on an Internet bibliography called "The Digital
Domain" I produce on an irregular basis for the hardcopy journal BC Studies
( http://www.bcstudies.com). <http://www.bcstudies.com)>  The journal's Web
site has the first two "Digital Domain"s available online:

Archives Association of British Columbia, Virtual Archival Exhibits from
Around British Columbia: http://aabc.bc.ca/aabc/exhibit.html
<http://aabc.bc.ca/aabc/exhibit.html> (several of these are Canada's
SchoolNet Collections/Canada's Digital Collections projects)
ArtsEdNet (The Getty Center Education Institute):
http://www.artsednet.getty.edu/ <http://www.artsednet.getty.edu/>
Canada's Digital Collections (formerly Canada's SchoolNet Collections):
http://collections.ic.gc.ca/ <http://collections.ic.gc.ca/>  (many of these
sites were developed for the purpose of K-12 curriculum support; this
includes the award-winning BC Archives Amazing Time Machine you've already
cited)
Early Canadiana Online: http://www.canadiana.org/
<http://www.canadiana.org/> (over 3,000 digitized and fully searchable
pre-1900 publications about Canada; similar to the Making of America digital
library at the University of Michigan)
Heritage Project (Canada): http://www.heritageproject.ca/default.htm
<http://www.heritageproject.ca/default.htm>
University of Calgary, Department of History, Applied History Research
Group, Multimedia History Tutorials:
http://www.ucalgary.ca/hist/tutor/index.html
<http://www.ucalgary.ca/hist/tutor/index.html>  (these are free Internet
lessons on world/European/Canadian history topics illustrated with graphics
and maps; the graphics are usually contemporary to the period under
discussion)

A large number of museums and museum-archives, some of which are in
libraries, also have marvelous online exhibits, many of which are geared to
the K to 12 curriculum. You can search for any museum in the world by
location or by keyword searching through the International Council of
Museums Virtual Library museum page (VLmp) at http://www.icom.org/vlmp/
<http://www.icom.org/vlmp/>

Good luck with your project, it sounds very useful. I hope you will place
your findings on a permanent Web site.
