NEW Section 106 Review March 23-24,00 training



Due to high demand a second  INTRODUCTION TO  SECTION 106 REVIEW course has been scheduled for Riverside California, March 23-24, 2000

Course Description:
     A 2-day training course designed by the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation and jointly sponsored by the Advisory Council and the University of Nevada, Reno?s Continuing and Distance Education Office.

Introduction to Section 106 Review explains the requirements of Section
106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.  These apply any time a
Federal or federally assisted project, activity, or undertaking could
affect a property listed in or eligible for the National Register of
Historic Places.

What the course covers.  Participants will learn the basic steps of the
Section 106 review process and how it is implemented under the new
regulations issued by the Advisory Council at 36 CFR Part 800.  This
course replaces the Council?s earlier 3-day course, Introduction to
Federal Projects and Historic Preservation Law.

2000 course locations and dates.  The open enrollment training sessions
for 2000 that are listed below are open to Federal, State, local, or
tribal officials and to government contractors and others in the private
sector.  All course sessions are two days long and meet from 8:30 a.m.-
4:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
