Re: How Many Photocopies is too Many?



If the collection is heavily used, you may want to consider microfilming.
This will make the information more widely available and reduce the physical
handling of the collection. Patrons who want a large portion of the records
may consider purchasing the film at whatever rate you establish.

As for scanning, unless you prohibit this outright, the best you can do is
to make all patrons aware of copyright law. Once the copies or scanned
images leave the premises, it's really (and literally) beyond your control.
