Re: Jobs

In view of the thread about including a salary range in job postings, can I
be a shameless opportunist and point out that the description controlling
our current search for a University Archivist at the University of Iowa
_does_ include a salary range?: "Appointment will be made at the Librarian
I or II level (levels go to IV), salary range of $25,890 - $47,075, based
on relevant experience (3+ years) and educational background (graduate
degree). Attractive benefits package." Full posting at
http://www.lib.uiowa.edu/lib/jobs/univ-archivist.html.

I won't attempt to argue this is or isn't an adequate range for the work we
hope and expect, but it is what we can offer, it provides some room to
negotiate, and we think overall the position represents an unusual
opportunity for a less experienced archivist. Applications close June 30.
Thanks for your attention.
