Re: Pretty In Pink

As for the bulk of the discussion about The Suit in Question, who cares?

The original post was trying to locate the clothing and was responded to
with the comment that, according to the History Channel (that font of
knowledge of last resort), it was in the National Archives but not
available for viewing. And suddenly, the bulk of traffic today is
expressing outrage over an institution alleged to hold an artifact that
can't be viewed by the taxpayers.

This discussion has gone on for quite some time and I agree- WHO CARES!
There are many other items form various tragedies on public view, why not
the infamous "pink dress"? Is there something special about the dress or the
Kennedy family that requires extra care? It is a piece of history. Perhaps a
morbid reminder of a sad day, but history is not always cheerful and happy..

Anyway, I've spent most of my adult life hearing and reading about Camelot
and the mystical Kennedy family and quite frankly I never bought it.

Maybe this is in bad taste but could we have a display consisting of the car
that the sanctimonious Ted drove to kill Mary Jo or perhaps the bottle of
sleeping pills that Bobby gave to Marilyn. Hey, how about the shovel they
used to bury Jimmy Hoffa in the Giants end zone!

I'm just a bit tired of the double standards involved here. Keeping this
dress locked away serves no useful purpose.
