Which begs the question of why they were so quick to reach that point. Is
accusation grounds for an automatic presumption of guilt? Or did the OAH and SAA
decide to distance themselves from the controversy, whether anything had been
proven or not?

And, no, I don't really want to see that can of worms reopened, but it's worth
thinking about.
