Pencils versus Pens



Peter Kurilecz posted this article as part of his series of archival news
articles;  my favorite part of the Archives list.

However, fine bits of graphite from pencils and shavings floating around the
cabin in zero-gravity and being pushed around by air currents could
potentially cause all sorts of electrical problems and malfunctions, and
perhaps it was this concern that led to the difference in philosophy.  When
something breaks in space, it is not a good thing.

Future archivists in zero-g environments, take heed!
