GETTING AROUND IN DENVER

Auto Rental (Downtown).

Public Transportation.
The Regional Transportation District operates a fleet of city buses in
the metropolitan area.  In general, buses run from 5:30AM to 10:30PM.
Fare is $1.25 from 6-9AM and 4-6PM, Monday thru Friday, and 75 cents
during off-peak hours.  For more information, please call (303)

The Light Rail is an above-ground express train that travels from
Mineral and Santa Fe Streets southwest of Denver to 30th and Downing
Streets in Denver;  the fare is the same as the bus system.

The Sixteenth Street Shuttle is free, and it runs up and down 16th
Street between Market Street and Broadway.  Departs every 2 minutes and
stops at every block.  Runs end at 12:45AM.

The Cultural Connection Trolley is $3.00 for all day.  It begins its
route at 14th and California Streets.  The Red Route (10AM-6PM) stops at
the Denver Art Museum, Denver Public Library, Cherry Creek Shopping
Center, and the Colorado History Museum.  The Green Route
(9:30AM-5:30PM) stops at the State Capitol, Denver Zoo, Denver Museum of
Natural History, Denver Botanic Gardens, and the Molly Brown House.

Taxis.
Taxi cabs in Denver can be requested by phone or, less commonly, hailed
on the street.  Major companies are:
 American Cab Co.  (303) 321-5555
 Metro Taxi Co.  (303) 333-3333
 Yellow Cab Co.   (303) 777-7777

Taxis are metered, with basic charges of $1.60 when the meter starts and
$1.60 for each mile.  There is usually a flat fee of 40 cents for each
additional passenger.  The standard tip is 15 percent

Gambling.
The Coach USA-Ace Express Charter bus leaves near the Denver Pavilions
every two hours beginning at 7:10AM and ending at 9:10PM.  The pickup
location is on Glenarm Street, between 15th and 16th Streets (bus then
travels north to the next stop), just south of a store named ?Hot
Topics.?  The cost is $15.00.  The bus will let you off at the Central
Palace Casino in Central City.  You ?get back? your $15.00 by playing at
the Central Palace and Bonanza casinos.  You may telephone Coach USA-Ace
