CONSULTANT FOR ARCHIVING SERVICES
Organization Overview: The Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Central Florida is an interfaith organization dedicated to combating racism and prejudice through its extensive educational and cultural outreach programs. Using the lessons of the Holocaust as a tool, the Center reaches nearly 40,000 central Floridians of all ages, religions and backgrounds each year. Each year, the Center offers the community distinguished lecturers, world-class art exhibits, annual commemorations, a film series, educational teaching trunks, in-depth teacher training and an annual Summer Teachers' Institute on Holocaust Studies. In 1994, a Florida state mandate (Chapter 233.061 (1)(f) was passed that requires the teaching of the Holocaust in all Florida public schools. The Commissioner of Education and the Task Force on Holocaust Education have charged the Holocaust Center with the responsibility of providing the resources and training necessary for teachers to implement this mandate. The Center currently seeks a short-term
consultant to provide the following services:
- assessment, inventory and
categorize archival collection
- preservation of
archives
- computerization of
holdings
- post archive holdings on existing
website
