DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides reference service to customers in person, by telephone, e-mail
and mail. Furnishes information on library services, activities,
facilities, and policies. Assists with collection development as
assigned. Teaches and promotes use of library materials and resources.
Participates in library orientation programs and in conducting tours.
Develops and prepares bibliographies and user guides. Performs outreach
activities such as talks to schools and organizations. Performs other
tasks essential to efficient library operations as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must be
able to use a computer to access/input information. Requires visual
acuity to read titles and call numbers (alpha-numeric) of books and
materials. Must be able to move freely throughout the unit to
file/retrieve library materials. Position requires stooping, bending,
and lifting up to 20 pounds.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
None.

PREFERENCES
Bachelor's degree in Art History and Customer/Public Service experience
is preferred. Current computer skills including Microsoft Windows, Word,
Excel, Access and Powerpoint is desirable.

SALARY INFORMATION
Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's
qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this
classification.  The minimum to midpoint of this salary range is:
$28,080 - $32,292 Annually

am to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 611 Walker, Garden Level. First
