MICROCOMPUTER ANALYST

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Installs, configures, trouble-shoots and coordinates general maintenance
of the library department's computer software, including file servers.
Assists in evaluation of software packages for applications within the
library system. Includes installation of library specific software,
training on its use, maintaining, and trouble-shooting the equipment as
needed. Handles special projects as assigned. Requires some evenings
and weekend (Saturday and Sunday) work.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to relate well to people in a training situation; good
written and verbal communications skills. Must be able to use a
computer to access/input information. Must be able to move freely
throughout all locations. Position requires stooping, bending and
lifting up to 20 pounds.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information
Systems, or closely related field. Requires a thorough understanding of
both theoretical and practical aspects of computer science and
microcomputer applications.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Two years professional experience in systems analysis, design,
programming, or closely related field is required. Directly related
professional experience may be substituted for the education requirement
on a year to year basis.
PREFERENCES
Preference will be given to those applicants with demonstrated ability
to use, learn, and train on a variety of software packages.
SALARY INFORMATION
Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's
qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this
classification. The minimum to midpoint of this salary range is:
$29,068 - $39,728 Annually
