Re: recruiting library friends



As a parent of a young adult ... I would say that from her point of view,
spending money on membership as a "friend" of a library, archives,
etc. is simply not possible at her age and income bracket.   I think
there are at least two obstacles at this level -- (1) money, and (2)
interest.    I think you would have better luck offering sponsored
memberships or raising funds from older (and better-off financially)
donors to support the costs of printing and mailing newsletters and
sponsoring memberships for younger adults and others.
