flattening oil soaked document?
A patron at the city museum at which my husband is the
superintendent was referred to me. She has a 1928 hunting
license which has been stored, rolled in a gun barrel. The oil from
the gun barrel has permeated the document. Can anyone
recommend a way to flatten the document? I'm wondering if
humidifying the document will work at all since it is oil-soaked.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
