Re: Storage of Architectural Drawings

I think I just developed this formula on my own, but here's what I use:  Five folders per 2" drawer with a maximum of 25 sheets (pages, pieces) per folder.  I most cases I would put fewer than 25 sheets in a folder if they are all loose items, but sometimes architectural drawings are bound into multiple page sets.

Subject: Storage of Architectural Drawings

Hello All!

I am looking to pick your collective brain.  We are investigating various funding sources for the purchase of additional flat file drawer units for the storage of architectural drawings. I am trying to develop a justification for the purchase for the financial powers-that-be.  I know at one point I heard or read a recommendation on the number of architectural drawings stored per drawer, but I cannot figure out where I got the information.  It was something like "x drawings per folder and x folders per drawer".  Does anyone out there have this information and its source?

Thanks!
