Archivist/records manager on TV
I'm wondering if others of you who might have watched "Touched by an Angel" last night were disappointed as I was by the very timid man who was a person who filed information about people in the heavenly archives.
For those of you who did not see the program, here is a brief summary.
Att the start of the program the poor archivist/records manager would hardly speak. Near the end, however, he was persuaded to be somewhat more assertive when telling a young woman that her father had not died in vain when he rushed into a burning house to save people inside. He did save a young boy but died in attempting to safe the father. His daughter, who worked at a roadside cafe, gas station, and garage always thought that it was a fruitless thing to do since she was not aware that a young boy had been rescued. The night when she learned that a young boy had been saved, that person (now a young man) was given the man of the year award by his local chamber of commerce.
In a way, then, the archivist/records manager was portrayed in a poor light at first but then in a better light at the end.
