Please be gentle - we all have to adapt to
our situations from time to time, regardless of how less-than-ideal they may
be. :)
Bridgette: You poor thing! Having to make-do while all of the rest of us
have everything we could possibly want!
Your idea about waiting until spring is pretty good. In the meantime, keep
the albums in a cool, dry environment, so the mold will go dormant. Do not
store them in plastic bags, because that creates a stagnant environment,
and fungi just love it.
After the spring thaw, on a calm day, don your mask and smock and rubber
gloves. Use a very soft brush on the images themselves, but you can use an
"archival" dust cloth on everything else. If you have a HEPA vac for fungi,
you can direct the gentle brushing towards the intake to trap many of the
spores. Check out my website at
