Re: Horse Mounted Bands



We have images of the Ringling Bros. band mounted on horses from around the
turn of the century.  There were possibly other circus bands that did it.
We assume the horses had to be trained.  A 1915 image show the reins
attached to the players' feet so both hands could hold the instruments.
Consider, also, the skill of the musicians, who had to perform over a parade
route of a mile or more while guiding the horse, then go into the tent and
perform for a two-hour show.
