Re: C&U archives authority



We recently received formal authorization to be the archives for the
four health sciences schools here, but that doesn't necessarily mean we
get records.  Without enforcement power, something few non-governmental
archives have, you can not force offices to give you their archival
records.

The answer, as someone said earlier, is records management. My
experience here is the usual -- everyone thinks it's a good idea until
they realize they have to spend money on it...Somehow they think they're
not spending money on it already (file cabinets, lack of space,etc.).
