Re: Krispy Kreme/preserved food

If I had ever eaten a Krispy Kreme I doubt that I would have compared them with manna as Sally did. One of the dictionary definitions of manns as "the dried exudate of cerain plants; especially, that of a Euraisan ash tree . . . formerly used as a laxative." I believe modern biblical scholars believe that the manna of the bible was something produced by plants.
The term I would have used if I wanted to praise Krispy Kreme is ambrosia, which the dictioary defines as "the food of the gods, thought to impart imortality" and "anything with an especially delicious flavor or fragrance."

I must respectfully disagree with my colleagues. Being raised in Charlotte,
NC, I ate many a KK hot off the conveyor belt. No trip home is complete
without a trip to a KK. They are the modern reincarnation of manna.
Following the preserved food thread, time does not treat them kindly, so by
the time they've been sitting in a gas station for several days they are not
worth eating or worrying about preserving.

The local Pensacolians rave over Krispy Kreme which I find
awful especially in comparison to Mel-O-Cream. Even Dunkin'
Donuts are better than KK! :D
