Re: Fold and cut
Whether bound materials are cut or discarded after
microfilming is, I think, a decision of the archivist or
staff. Unfortunately too often, this decision is NOT
made by an archivist.
When I had a run of our local newspaper (1906-1912) placed
on film, the tight bindings required that they be cut, however
I retained all of the trimmed volumes, over the dismay of my
library director who believed once filmed--then tossed.
