Re: Review of Baker's book



Okay, I read this article and while it seems to defend the weeding of
collections, it discounts microfilm entirely.  In reality, microfilm is the
only viable alternative to Baker's "Home Depot" warehouse of paper.  The
newer reader/printers increase the  ease-of-use of microforms.  It is the
lack of funding for this type of equipment that creates the general
unpopularity of microfilm.  Especially in many public libraries where the
microfilm reader/printers are themselves, historical artifacts.
