Re: CD Labeling, well, CD preservation duplication

Not really related to CD labelling, but I thought I'd throw this out for
comment. Last week my daughter was telling about a certain unnamed mutual
acquaintance who ordered a bunch of (music) CDs and proceeded to copy them
and now will only play the copies. Is this common? I never copied my CD's
'cause I figured considering their life span it wasn't worth it. Am I
getting behind the times on something?

And on another note, my brother just got a simulation that's pretty well
hooked him (from what I can tell) called Europa Universalis, and in showing
it to us, he asked my daughter if she know why it was that when he was
playing the year 1532 the only place that could provide all the information
about a given province/shire/county was the church. (He proceed to click on
the church and all kinds of stats on population, economy, etc. popped up). I
let him explain that at that time it was the one place that consistently kept
records that could tell so much about a local area. He was very pleased with
himself.
