Position available at Yale University

Dear colleagues:

Manuscripts and Archives at the Yale University Library is currently
searching for an experienced professional to serve as Assistant University
Archivist. As part of its tercentennial observation, Yale funded a
five-year program to improve the records management and archival services
that the Yale University Archives provides to the Yale and research
communities. As a result of the success of that project, the university
has approved permanent funding for an expanded university archives program
and a major electronic records initiative beginning July 1, 2001. For more
information about the programs of the Yale University Archives and the
Archives 300 project, see: http://www.library.yale.edu/archives300/

The successful candidate for this position will be a senior member of the
staff of Manuscripts and Archives and responsible for all records services
provided by the University Archives to the Yale community, including
further development and implementation of functional records schedules,
training and communication with Yale staff, and investigation of records
issues, especially those concerned with electronic records.

This position is an excellent opportunity for a professional archivist
looking for a position that provides a well-funded and supportive
operational environment in which to provide excellent archival services as
well as a setting for investigation and development of new approaches to
contemporary records issues.

The official description of the position is posted at
www.library.yale.edu/lhr/jobs/mp/LDTN8632.html
