Re: drying soggy Houston flood documents in vacuum chamber?



Reporters pretending to be knowledgeable about what they report on make me
nervous. Who said the documents were "crispy"? Was it someone involved with
the repairs, or did the reporter put his/her mouth in gear before engaging
the brain and use the first adjective that came to mind, regardless of its
accuracy or appropriateness? Really, how many reporters are knowledgeable
enough about document conservation to know what they're talking about when
covering a story about it?
